Job Summary
The Case management officer under the direct supervision of the Case Management Coordinator is primarily responsible for conducting all steps of the child protection case management process for an assigned number of individual children vulnerable to violence, abuse, exploitation, neglect and their families in this process. The main objective for the Case Management Officer is to ensure children harmed or at risk of being harmed are identified and receive individual case management support by conducting documentation, assessments, action plans, direct service provision, referrals and follow-ups for an assigned caseload of children. The Case Management Officer will provide support to families in the process of case management, including foster and alternative care. The Officer will be based in the settlement as allocated and directly work with other service providers on management of caseload and referrals.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management for Individual Children and their Families:
- Provide quality case management services to children at risk
- Guide children and families through the full case management process
- Provide psychosocial support and conduct safe referrals
Community and Interagency Coordination:
- Liaise with community members and service providers
- Maintain up-to-date service mapping
- Participate in inter-agency case conferences
Case Management Teamwork:
- Engage in capacity building opportunities
- Participate in case management meetings
- Prepare for supervision sessions
- Assess and write BID reports for children
Other Duties:
- Adhere to Child Protection and Safeguarding policies
- Monitor safety/security of field teams
- Any other delegated duties
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, Social Sciences or relevant discipline
- 2+ years professional experience working with children
- Excellent writing, facilitation, and organizational skills
- Experience managing child protection cases sensitively
- Strong communication and community mobilization skills
- Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in multi-cultural environments
- Competent spoken English
- Knowledge of working in relevant regions/contexts
- Experience with IDPs, refugees and returnees
