Research Officer – Animal Breeding

About NARO

The National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) is mandated to coordinate, oversee and guide agricultural research in Uganda. The organisation is made up of a Council as its governing Body, a Secretariat for its daily operations, and 16 Public Agricultural Research Institutes (PARIS) under its policy guidance.

Job Summary

To improve breed traits, increase productivity, preserve genetic diversity and develop new breeding lines.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture (animal science option) or Veterinary Medicine plus a Master’s Degree in Animal Breeding and genetics.
  • Three years demonstrated relevant working experience in a reputable organization in animal breeding research environment.
  • Proven record of publications in referred journals is an added advantage.
  • Possession of a PhD is an added advantage.
  • Age Limit: Not more than 40 years.
