Job Summary The Teacher oversees all activities within and out the Classroom in order to achieve the highest level of education possible. He / she creates a stimulating learning environment by introducing new, creative teaching methods, and by providing a varied, challenging and balanced educational programme.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities 
Conduct lessons that are child friendly and appropriate to the different age groups to meet the set expectations/targets as guided by the Head teacher.
Develop schemes and daily lesson plan for the teaching/classroom activities.
Ensure that the children are properly supervised at all times and that the teachers comply with the safety regulations and proper child-care procedures.
Ensure continuous monitoring and review of each child’s progress to ensure that their individual educational needs are addressed.
Develop and share creative ideas during school activities and actively participate in them.
Support the children in using the library and ensure that reading time is maximally used.
Ensure proper records are maintained regarding books, stationary, furniture and equipment in the classroom assigned.
Ensure the classroom and store is kept in a neat and orderly condition.
Ensure all children have their meals.
Take daily records of children’s attendance.
Prepare termly reports for the pupils.
Ensure that the children are dropped off and picked from the school by their parent or guardian. Authorized persons registered shall only pick a child from the school
A loving home for every child
Take prompt action in the event of an accident.
Report any accident or signs of ill-health to the parent or guardian of the respective child
Perform any other duties as instructed by the Head teacher


Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate must hold a Certificate in ECD, Grade 3 primary/ License, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Primary or Early Childhood Education.
At least four Years working experience.
Proven working experience as a Teacher
Significant experience in teaching jolly phonics package.
Excellent knowledge of child development and latest education theories and
Creative and artistic teaching abilities.
Demonstrated ability to keep abreast with the latest trends and best practices.
Must be target-driven and self-motivated.
Excellent Communication skills
Skills in music, sports/games, dance and art will be an added advantage.
