Job Summary ⇒ We are looking for a Research & Development Officer. Do you
have knowledge of research concepts, and practices in horticulture Are you

player We are looking for you! We offer an interesting job with a lot of
responsibility and autonomy in which you are to generate knowledge, systems
and conditions so that production department can raise efficiency and
effectiveness in maintaining crops and taking production to a higher level of
quality and quantity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
⇗ Measure, analyses and make a follow up on the inner quality of cuttings and
then develop the growing strategies in order to give the production department
the options to meet the highest quality.
⇗ Developing and evaluating growing strategies fertilizers, water, light
application & crop maintenance to improve production per square meter and
inner quality.
⇗ Searching for and developing a better way to have strong, healthy and clean
crops. Going away from chemicals towards IPM biological. Identifying pests
and diseases where production doubts. Evaluating crop plans. Defining,
controlling & evaluating the right procedures & systems. Developing &
maintaining strict hygiene protocols.
⇗ Locating, preparing, packaging, labeling and sending samples to the
laboratories local or abroad for analysis as necessitated by production team
or growing consultants.
⇗ Making sure routine and other data is well recorded analyzed and adds
comments. This includes but not limited to; - pulse data, chlorophyll content
index, percentage dry matter, performance trials, analysis results from the
laboratory, and any other trials that may come up.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience
⇗ The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, Agronomy
⇗ Good expression in English and Luganda
⇗ Experience in research environment
