The Infectious Diseases Institute IDI is a Ugandan not-for-profit
organization whose mission is to strengthen health systems in Africa, with
strong emphasis on infectious diseases, through research and capacity
development. IDI has six operational areas through which it works to achieve
its mission Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research, Laboratory
services including the CAP-certified IDI Core Lab & Translational Lab,
Global Health Security and Health System Strengthening.
Job Summary ⇒ The Project Coordinator will be working in the communities of
Kampala and Gulu to increase case finding for tuberculosis by involving the
private sector. He / She will also conduct activities that empower vulnerable
groups especially those affected by tuberculosis. .
Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
⇗ Assists investigators with implementation of project-planning and problem-solving
⇗ Coordinate face-to-face and e-learning courses for the private facility staff participating in the project
⇗ Participate in preparation of memoranda with collaborating partners
⇗ Coordinate re-imbursements and payments under a voucher system for the project in-line with financial guidelines
⇗ Carry out field visits to participating facilities to confirm concordance with agreed SOPs
⇗ Liaise with procurement to ensure timely requisition of supplies for the project
⇗ Supervises staff and ensures that they achieve the aims and objectives of the project
⇗ Contributes to the writing of Scientific Articles.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
⇗ Master’s degree in any of the above disciplines is essential
⇗ Knowledge of Uganda national TB tools and reporting mechanisms.
⇗ Willing to work at up country sites
⇗ Should be fluent in oral and written English.
⇗ Competent in the use of standard office software;
⇗ Ability to speak local language
