Job Summary
Our client a Ugandan multi-disciplinary construction firm that operates in Civil Construction, water treatment and water supply systems, irrigation systems, EPC projects & procurement of specialized supplies is hiring for the position of the Sales Engineer.
The candidate is expected to grow sales through technical expertise, customer relationship management, and effective promotion of the company’s products and solutions. The Sales Engineer will combine engineering knowledge with sales skills to identify customer needs, provide appropriate product solutions, and achieve sales targets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within assigned sectors
- Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals to clients.
- Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and site visits to promote the company’s solutions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.
- Prepare regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and market feedback for management.
- Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and promotional events to represent the company.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients
- Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate technical solutions.
- Prepare quotations, technical submittals, and product specifications.
- Coordinate with the technical and procurement teams to ensure accurate product selection and delivery.
- Provide after-sales support, including installation guidance, troubleshooting, and product training where necessary.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through prompt communication and reliable support.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in pumps, irrigation products, generators.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to explain complex products clearly.
