About the Organization
Quality Chemical Industries Limited (QCIL) is East Africa’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturer and one of the largest in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The Company manufactures antiretrovirals, artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTS) and Hepatitis medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control all financial transactions associated with the factory construction project
- Ensure accurate capitalization of construction-related expenses per accounting standards
- Collaborate with project managers to validate completion milestones
- Maintain records of project expenditures, contracts, and approvals
- Prepare periodic financial reports and forecasts for stakeholders
- Reconcile budgets vs. actual costs and investigate variances
- Support audits and ensure regulatory compliance
- Assist in asset capitalization entries post-project completion
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA preferred)
- 3–5 years’ accounting experience, preferably in capital projects
- Knowledge of tax treatment for construction expenses (VAT, withholding tax)
- Proficiency in SAP ERP, Excel, and Power BI
- Project management certification is an advantage
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
