Introduction

Humanity & Inclusion – HI (formerly Handicap International) is an international non-governmental Organization founded in 1982 and currently located in more than 60 countries worldwide. HI is an independent and impartial aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. The organization works alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, taking action and bearing witness in order to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.

About the PROTECT SRHR Project

The PROTECT SRHR Consortium brings together six recognized leading organizations in their field to deliver a Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Education project in Uganda with the overarching objectives to reduce teen pregnancies and increase teenage girls retention in schools.

Context of the Assignment

Persons with disabilities have the same rights to the highest attainable standard of healthcare and SRH and in making their own choices about sexuality and sexual health. This right to healthcare is enshrined in international laws through human rights treaties, and in domestic legal frameworks including national constitutions.

6 Districts in West Nile, Uganda: Nebbi, Pakwach, Terego, Maracha, Yumbe and Koboko.

Assignment and Mode of Work

Objectives and Expected Deliverables

Objectives of the assignment: Design and produce culturally appropriate pictorial materials with specific consideration of persons with intellectual and/or mental difficulties for use as communication aids during the provision of SRHR counselling, Family Planning (FP) and Gender-based violence (GBV) services, school-based activities.

Requirements

  • Requirement 1: Produce 12 virtual boxes/packages of pictorial images covering 12 SRHR topics.
  • Requirement 2: All pictorials to be pre-tested with persons with disabilities and developed in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Requirement 3: All pictorials must be in accessible digital formats.

Scope of Work

The assignment includes preparatory, production, and finalization phases, with deliverables submitted at each stage for approval.

Eligibility & Selection

Expertise Required

  • Ability to produce high-quality, dignified, and inclusive pictorial images.
  • Experience in accessible IEC materials and disability inclusion.
  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding of SRHR contexts.

Documents to Be Submitted

  • Curriculum vitae, diplomas, and identity documents.
  • Technical and financial proposals.
  • Samples of previous work (minimum 10 pictorials).

Award & Payment

Payments will be released in installments upon submission and validation of deliverables (20%, 30%, 50%).
