Job Summary
The role holder will be responsible for supporting the Legal Director & Company Secretary and the Corporate Security and Brand Protection Manager in delivering the mandate, mission, and strategies for both Corporate Security and Brand Protection in Uganda and the Great Lakes Region.
Market Complexity
UBL has major operations throughout Uganda with the main sites for brewing and distillation and the distribution hub being located at Port Bell Luzira. UBL operations also cover logistics and distribution centres as well as sales and marketing operations countrywide.
The region offers security challenges including staff safety in high-risk locations, protection from organised criminals, terrorist threats, and illicit trade landscape management.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Security
- Protecting company employees, assets, brands, reputation and business operations/activities from security threats.
- Preparing intelligence briefings, threat assessments, and investigation reports.
- Conducting security vulnerability assessments for facilities and personnel.
- Coordinating Business Continuity Management (BCM) initiatives.
Brand Assurance
- Developing Brand Assurance strategies and coordinating anti-counterfeit actions.
- Collecting and analyzing suspected counterfeit product samples.
- Investigating breaches and liaising with law enforcement for prosecution.
General Duties
- Managing third-party service providers and departmental budgets.
- Driving compliance with laws and Diageo policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- University graduate with at least three years’ post-qualification experience.
- Legal/corporate security training or law enforcement background preferred.
- Expertise in threat analysis, physical security, and complex investigations.
- Proficiency in English with strong communication skills.
