About US ⇒
The Public Service Commission is established under the provisions of Article
1651 of the 1995 Constitution. In fulfillment of its functions under Article
166, the Commission is required to make a report to Parliament in respect of
each year’s performance of its functions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Petroleum Officer, Transport
and Storage for performing the following duties-
⇗ Participating in the design and development of transport and storage
facilities;
⇗ Ensuring strict adherence to Health, Safety, Environment and other
established technical, regulations in development of petroleum storage and
transport facilities;
⇗ Monitoring development of transport and storage facilities so as to ensure
compliance with set standards and contractual obligations;
⇗ Ensuring strict record keeping so that results of all significant
inspections and testing are properly kept and readily availed whenever needed;
⇗ Assisting with review of technical reports for petroleum products transport
and storage facilities;
⇗ Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
⇗ Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor of
Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering; or Civil Engineering; or any other
related field from a recognized University /Institution.
⇗ Ethics and integrity; interpersonal, communication and computer skills;
ability to adapt to multi-cultural settings; effective organizational and
planning skills; time management skills; technical skills; report writing
skills; negotiation skills; capacity for teamwork; innovation and concern for
results, quality and standards.
