About US
Chapter Four Uganda is an independent not-for profit non-partisan organization dedicated to the protection of civil liberties and promotion of human rights for all in Uganda. It derives its name from the bill of rights contained under chapter four of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda. Incorporated in 2013 under the laws of Uganda, Chapter Four Uganda is a robust and coordinated mechanism for legal response to abuse of civil liberties. The organization provides bold and innovative legal response through representation, litigation and counsel to the most vulnerable and discriminated sections of society.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities  
Support the organization's research and research projects.
Engage in the development of research designs, methodology and data collection tools.
Identify research respondents and carry out interviews, focus group discussions and administration of different the research tools.
Conduct data collection and data analysis activities.
Conduct in-depth literature review for research projects.
Carry out qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
Prepare analysis of research findings and write research reports.
Maintain accurate records of interviews while observing confidentiality.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The applicant must hold a University Degree in Law, Social or Political Science, or other relevant field. A Master's Degree will be an additional advantage.
Experience in human rights monitoring, documentation and reporting.
Three 3 years of work experience in research, evaluation and policy.
Proven knowledge and understanding of law, human rights, social issues, and the concepts of justice and accountability.
Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
Good command of MS Word, Excel and knowledge of SPSS and qualitative data analysis software will be an additional advantage.
Language Must be effective in written and verbal communication in English. Good command of Luganda and other local languages will be an added advantage
