Uganda National Meteorological Authority UNMA is a statutory body established by UNMA Act, 2012. The Act empowers UNMA to provide for the control and development of technically sound and scientific meteorological services in Uganda.
 
Job Summary  The Senior Internal Auditor will provide an independent and objective assurance services to the Board and Executive Director regarding the resource’s management, risks, operations and soundness of the Authority.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities  
Head of the Internal Audit Section
Ensures that planned assignments are conducted in compliance with existing procedures, rules and regulations.
Ensures professional conduct and practices of financial management are adhered to.
Reviews Internal Audit systems and procedures to assess their adequacy and compliance
Initiates audit assignments and leads team in conducting audit assignments
Writes/prepares audit reports to the chief executive and /or audit committee
Ensures that the Authority has sufficient controls for the management of the assets and stores
Initiates and supervises on spot and special Internal Audit investigations over any matter which may call for such action.
Performs any other assignment as may be required by the Board and ED

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The applicant must hold an Honors Bachelor Degree of Finance and Accounting or Bachelor of Commerce Accounting option or Bachelor of Business Administration Accounting option Bachelor of Business Studies Accounting option
Master’s degree in Accounting from a recognized University
A full professional Accounting/Auditing qualification like CIA or ACCA or CPA or CIMA
At least six years of working experience as an Internal Auditor or equivalent level of Internal Audit work in Government or an equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
A member of the relevant professional body.
Financial Analysis;
Risk Analysis;
Value for money Audit.
Age 30- 50 Years
