About US
The Capital Markets Authority CMA is a statutory body, established in 1996 by the Capital Markets Authority Act Cap 84 as amended, to promote, develop and regulate the capital markets industry. CMA is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.
 
Job Summary The Legal Officer will assist in the provision of technical support in the delivery of legal advisory services, conduct research for the development of laws aimed at ensuring the capital market in Uganda is safe, efficient and vibrant.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities 
Undertake legal research to support the review and development of capital markets laws;
Assist in handling complaints, conducting due diligence searches and investigations on behalf of the Legal and Board Affairs Department;
Coordinate enforcement actions in conjunction with relevant law enforcement organs of Government;
Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on behalf of the Legal and Board Affairs Department;
Assist in the follow-up of cases involving the Authority, legal research, preparation of court documents and securing approval of chambers for the Authority.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The applicant for the Capital Markets Authority CMA Legal Officer job placement must hold an honors Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized institution/ University and a post-graduate diploma in legal practice is required.
Skills and Experience Entry level.
