The IRC has been working in Uganda since 1998 supporting nationals and refugees and various institutions in the country notably the government, community-based organizations, the civil society and the private sector. The current program portfolio in Uganda includes health, peace building, gender-based violence, economic recovery and agribusiness, and children & youth. Job Overview
The IRC is seeking for 3 Community Based facilitators for the forthcoming 5 year REBUILD Project. With IKEA Foundation funding, IRC plans to develop a model to leverage our established network of Community-Based Trainers CBFs to connect entrepreneur VSLA members to formal financial services and Private Service Actors. Currently, CBFs activities are supported by IRC funding only during project implementation, creating a transitory position that is not able to ensure long term fidelity to best practices. Part of the strategy is to ensure that CBTs are formalized and connected local financial services providers and Private Service Providers. CBFs will be better equipped to ensure VSLAs are sustainable, replicable, and that members continue to have access to expanded service offerings beyond IRC programming. Ultimately, our aim is to discover if increased capacity, purview, and analysis of the CBT role can help entrepreneurs develop advanced financial literacy skills and access formalized financing to grow their businesses.
Job Summary The CBF will be responsible for assisting in oversight of the day-to-day program through Clients registration, interpretation and linkage activities of the urban refugee economic empowerment project interventions in Kampala
