Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd. (KCL) is a member of the Volcafe group, the coffee division of ED&F Man. It is the oldest and largest coffee exporter in Uganda and the first to become ISO 9001:2008 certified. We buy Arabica and Robusta in all coffee producing regions and export about 15% of Uganda’s coffee production to over 30 consuming countries around the world. The company heavily invests in Uganda’s coffee infrastructure and people. Our quality-oriented business strategy aims to lift up the entire coffee sector and improve the quality perception of Ugandan Arabica and Robusta around the globe.

What to Expect
- Your trainee journey will begin in Kyagalanyi Coffee Limited Volcafe’s company in Uganda however you must be open global relocations as required for rotations and career progression.
- A two-year (minimum) programme designed to drive hands-on learning across all areas of the coffee business and industry.
- Core and elective modules (rotations) including but not limited to: sourcing/purchasing, production operations, quality, trading, logistics sustainability and finance.
- Trainees will work with expert mentors to build knowledge, skills, and acumen required to graduate and launch their career with Volcafe.
Qualifications & Requirements
- BA or MBA in Business, Finance, Economics, or International Trade from a leading educational institute
- MS Office, Excel, Power BI (desirable)
- Analytical and research skills
- Business level English verbal and written
- Driver’s license
- Citizen or permanent resident of Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya
- Valid passport with no restrictions to travel (globally)
- Willing and able to relocate globally at short notice for weeks/months at a time
- Willing and able to support highly flexible working hours (e.g. shift patterns, during harvest, special projects etc).
