Job Summary
The role holder will be responsible for the preparation and review of credit documentation for the Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) borrowers in line with the Credit policy, procedures, approval conditions and regulations to mitigate credit risks and minimize operational losses.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Efficient and timely preparation of offer letters, guarantees and credit documentation in line with approval terms and conditions and bank’s interest covered.
- Carry out periodic reviews of standardized formats for letters and security documents with the legal department.
- Maintain a register for incoming letters and documentation for review.
- Ensure offer letters reviewed are signed as per the Bank’s approved execution mandate.
- Prepare daily, weekly, quarterly and annual reports on the offer letters and guarantees issued.
- Manage CIB documentation deferrals and expiries in full coordination with respective Relationship Managers to ensure closure and mitigate the resulting risks.
- Handle all calls and queries relating to drafting and reviewing credit documentation.
- Manage turnaround time on offer letter issuance as per SLAs with the business and branch teams.
- Train Relationship Managers and branch teams in credit documentation preparation and review.
Financial Responsibility
Ensuring no financial losses arise from own work lapses.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Management or any relevant field.
- Expertise and knowledge in legal aspects of banking, corporate law, land law, credit product dynamics, credit administration and regulatory standards is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of conducting KYC and customer due diligence.
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.
- Excellent document preparation and management skills
