Uganda Airlines is the flag carrier of Uganda. The company is a revival of the older Uganda Airlines which operated from 1977 until 2001. It began flying in August 2019.
 
Job Summary Implement and perform Document Verification Unit activities to ensure compliance with regulations, standard operating procedures and to reduce UR’S risk exposure to penalties.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities 
Verify and profile travelling passenger documents to ensure timely identification of improper / inadequate documents
Identify improper / fraudulent documents to identify violations of immigration regulations in a timely manner.
Immediately inform the Supervisor in regards to any suspicious documentation.
Verify and confirm authenticity of visas
Properly implement regulations and DVU procedures to ensure compliance in case of passengers returned due to improper travel documents
Support governmental authorities and internal Security during investigations resulting from fraudulent documents identification
Manage complex issues resulting from DVU procedures enforcement to reduce impact on customer service level
Maintain a high level of customer service while implementing DVU procedures to reduce the impact on guests satisfaction
Collaborate with Airport authorities and other departments to ensure enforcement of immigration regulations and timely identify violations
Create internal and legal reports to accurately communicate inspections outcomes to authorities and Uganda Airlines Operations.
Escort special and VIP guests at the Hub when required to provide support to specific passengers.
Have knowledge of various restrictions to enter specific countries e.g. yellow fever, covid-19 etc.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The applicant must hold a Diploma
Two years experience in document verification
Relevant experience with an Airline or GHA
Airport operations training
Fluent in both oral and written English.
Good work speed
Analytical skills
Organizational skills.
Confidentiality
Honesty
Attention to detail
