Uganda Youth Development Link (UYDEL) is a non-profit organization that started in 1993 with a mission of enhancing socio-economic transformation of disadvantaged young people (10-24 years) both in and out of school, through evidence based interventions that: advocate; create linkages to services and information; and encourage social and livelihood skills development for self-reliance.
Job Summary
UYDEL is seeking qualified and compassionate Health Workers to deliver essential health services to pregnant adolescent girls in climate-affected communities within Kampala, Uganda. The Health Workers will support safe pregnancies, mental health, and sexual and reproductive health through community outreach, education, and referrals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct community-based health education sessions on SRHR, mental health, and climate-related health risks.
- Provide basic health screenings and support referrals to health facilities.
- Promote adolescent-friendly services and safe pregnancy practices.
- Collaborate with peer educators, social workers, and local health facilities.
- Participate in mobile outreach clinics and health campaigns.
- Document service delivery and contribute to project monitoring and reporting.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, or related field.
- Registration with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council or relevant professional body.
- At least 2 years’ experience working with adolescents or youth in community health settings.
- Knowledge of SRHR, mental health, and climate change impacts on health.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Experience working in low-resource or climate-affected communities.
- Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
