Job Summary
We seek to recruit a dynamic, driven and dedicated professional to join our Kampala office as a Tax Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for professionally providing tax advisory services to the firm’s clients, including the provision of relevant guidelines and ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the Tax Regulatory Framework.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Review of tax computations and tax returns for the firm’s clients.
- Review tax computations and returns.
- Oversee tax advisory and compliance engagements.
- Manage tax audits, investigations, and appeals.
- Provide advisory on transfer pricing and tax governance.
- Develop tax training schedules and market services to clients.
- Manage junior team members and participate in recruitment.
- Work on budget planning and billing/collection.
- Motivate the team and conduct evaluations.
Key Result Areas
- Accurate and timely report submission.
- Effective execution of tax advisory projects.
- Adherence to ethical practices.
- Participation in business development and marketing.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, ADIT) is an advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in tax advisory, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
