Job Summary

The Production Supervisor – UHT Operations is responsible for managing daily operations in the UHT milk production area. This includes ensuring product quality, process efficiency, and full compliance with Food Safety Management Systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in production planning by interpreting UHT production plans to determine raw material requirements and raise requisitions accordingly.
  • Supervise UHT milk production processes, including pasteurization, standardization, sterilization, and packaging.
  • Monitor product quality and equipment hygiene, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required reports and documentation.
  • Oversee the maintenance and proper functioning of equipment as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, UNBS standards, and internal factory policies.
  • Track and reconcile raw material usage against outputs and losses, following the process flow diagram.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Dairy Science, Food Processing Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant experience in dairy processing, particularly UHT milk or FMCG operations
  • Solid understanding of dairy processing equipment
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP, and GMP standards
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of SAP, ERP systems, and production planning tools is an added advantage

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Volume of milk packed per shift/day
  • Raw material and packaging losses per shift
  • Equipment hygiene and cleanliness
  • Timeliness and accuracy of report processing
  • Equipment and machine efficiency
  • Chemical usage during CIP (Cleaning in Place)
