Job Summary

The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, brand visibility, and market expansion for the plant’s dairy products—including UHT milk, yoghurt, ice cream, and butter. This role leads the development and execution of strategic sales and marketing plans, manages key customer relationships, and leverages digital tools such as GIS mapping, SAP ERP, and CRM platforms to optimize sales operations, monitor performance, and guide data-driven decisions.

The ideal candidate will combine commercial expertise with digital fluency, deep knowledge of Uganda’s FMCG landscape, and a passion for building trusted dairy brands through measurable impact.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
  • Set and monitor performance targets for sales teams, distributors, and retail partners
  • Use SAP ERP to track sales orders, customer accounts, receivables, and product movement

Data-Driven Sales Management

  • Utilize GIS mapping to visualize customer distribution, identify underserved regions, and optimize route-to-market strategies
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, forecast demand, and adjust strategies in real time
  • Generate dashboards and performance reports using SAP and CRM tools to support executive decision-making

Marketing & Brand Development

  • Design and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, and in-store channels
  • Monitor campaign performance using analytics tools and adjust messaging based on engagement metrics
  • Oversee product launches, promotions, and seasonal marketing strategies

Market Intelligence & Customer Insights

  • Conduct regular market research to track competitor activity, pricing trends, and consumer behavior
  • Use customer feedback and sales data to refine product positioning and promotional tactics
  • Segment customers based on purchasing behavior and tailor outreach accordingly

Channel & Territory Management

  • Expand distribution networks across urban and rural markets using data-backed territory planning
  • Coordinate with logistics and production teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery
  • Monitor channel performance and optimize inventory allocation based on demand forecasts

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor the sales and marketing team, setting clear KPIs and development goals
  • Collaborate with finance, production, and quality assurance teams to align commercial strategies with operational capacity
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and training sessions to build a high-performing team

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5–7 years in FMCG sales and marketing, preferably in dairy or food processing
  • Hands-on experience with SAP ERP, GIS mapping tools, CRM platforms, and data analytics
  • Strong understanding of Ugandan retail and distribution channels
  • Strong ability to interpret data, forecast trends, and make strategic decisions
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional collaboration
