About UFZEPA
Uganda Free Zones and Export Promotions Authority (UFZEPA) is a Statutory Government Agency established by the Free Zones (Amendment) Act 30 of 2024, and is responsible for the establishment, development, management, marketing, maintenance, supervision and control of Free Zones; the development, promotion and coordination of all export-related activities; and to provide for related matters.
Job Summary
To analyze data and disseminate trade related information and insights to support decision making.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate, manage and maintain an integrated Export Management Information System (EMIS)
- Verify and certify exporters’ documentation for accuracy, compliance and authenticity
- Identify and recommend relevant e-commerce platforms for export-ready companies
- Analyze trade data (volumes, values, trends, patterns)
- Conduct client analysis (needs, preferences, behavior)
- Analyze international markets, industries and competitor countries
- Assess industry trends to identify opportunities and challenges
- Conduct firm-level competitor analysis (strengths/weaknesses)
- Undertake outreach programs to producers, manufacturers and exporters
- Supervise and appraise staff
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Academic
- Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, International Business, Business Administration, Economics, IT/CS/Data Comms/IMS, Agricultural Economics or Agribusiness
- OR Full professional Qualification/Membership of Marketing (CIM)
Work Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience at Officer level in a reputable organization
