About Yalelo
Yalelo (U) Limited is a tilapia fish farm established in Uganda in 2019, located in Butembe, Buikwe district on Lake Victoria. A subsidiary of First Wave Group B.V (Netherlands), it operates alongside Yalelo Zambia—one of Africa’s largest aquaculture farms.
Job Summary
Provides leadership in engineering support and multidisciplinary expertise to production operations, driving continuous productivity and quality improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed designs using software and resolve design problems.
- Conduct feasibility assessments, site inspections, and project research/estimates.
- Ensure projects comply with health/safety laws and environmental standards.
- Manage building repairs, maintenance, and infrastructure replacements.
- Develop maintenance schedules to reduce non-productive time (NPT).
- Lead teams, monitor KPIs, and maintain stakeholder relationships.
- Produce civil engineering reports and review government regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; member of Engineering Institute of Uganda.
- 6+ years in food/related industries (2+ years in project management/supervision).
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and civil engineering software.
- Knowledge of capital cost estimation, contract administration, and Ugandan regulations.
