About the Organisation

Graphic Systems (U) Ltd is amongst the largest printing & packaging companies in East Africa. The Company was established over 25 years ago. It employs over 350 permanent staff, and an additional 100-150 contract labor. The Company supplies the East African market with large format (indoor & outdoor print advertising material), commercial printing (books, posters, flyers, etc.), industrial printing (labels, cartons), flexible packaging, and garmenting and promotional give away items.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and create engaging visual content for print and digital platforms.
• Lead design projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and project timelines.
• Collaborate closely with senior designers, marketing and production departments to understand project requirements and deliver impactful design solutions.
• Follow brand guidelines and ensure consistency across all designs.
• Maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
• Present design concepts and ideas to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine and finalize designs.

Key Performance Indicators

• Problem solving abilities
• Number of assignments completed.
• Response time to feedback.
• Number of revisions per design.
• Project deliveries and timelines.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Residency status: Preferably Ugandan National
• Qualification: Bachelor’ Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Art or related field.
• Linguistic skills: Fluent in English (Spoken & Written)
• Experience: 2/3 years of professional experience in industrial print design/commercial print design and a portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects.
• Age: Below 30years
• Remuneration: Salary is market competitive & negotiable

Key Skills

• Proficiency in Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other relevant design tools.
• Excellent understanding of topography, color theory, layout and visual hierarchy.
• Strong conceptual thinking and creative problem solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to RIP & Roam files.
• Experience working with an agency or creative studio environment.
