Job Summary

The Driver will be responsible for the safe transportation of HAC staff and materials; care and maintenance of the HAC vehicle and their accessories.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely servicing and maintenance of the HAC vehicle (complete service request forms and maintain service maintenance records) report in case of any mechanical problems.
  • Ensure the vehicle is insured and all legal documents are in order at all times; inform supervisor three weeks in advance of any renewals due (i.e. insurance, road license, etc.).
  • Drive HAC staff in a safe and courteous manner to field sites across Masaka, Rakai, Kalangala, and Lwengo.
  • Deliver mail/messages as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the interior/exterior of the vehicle.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum Ordinary Level Certificate: A- Level Certificate is an added advantage; Valid driver’s license class (Class is D1 Preferred)
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ driving experience preferably with NGOs.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Flexible and able to work in a dynamic and diverse environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Compensation

This position is designed as a full-time position. Compensation is UGX 500,000 per month before taxes. Insurance, Field travel expenses will be paid for by Health Access Connect.
