Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Truck Driver to join our logistics/transportation team. The Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently to designated destinations, ensuring timely deliveries, and complying with all traffic laws and company policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate company trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring goods are secured properly to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage, fuel usage, and trip records.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules while adapting to traffic, weather, or road conditions.
- Comply with all regulations, traffic laws, and safety standards.
- Report mechanical issues, accidents, or delays promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and pickups.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Valid UCE driving license with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
- Age between 40–55 years
- Ugandan nationality with proven cross-border driving experience
- Preferably married and stable in family life
- Proven experience as a truck driver or in a similar role.
- Clean driving record with no recent violations.
- Ability to operate trucks, trailers, and other heavy vehicles safely.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance.

- Two recommendation letters
- Two referees with contact details
- Physical ability to lift, secure, and move cargo.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with long-haul, regional, or local routes.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems
- Hazardous materials
- Mechanical aptitude for basic truck maintenance.
Work Environment
- Long hours of driving, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Combination of on-the-road driving and loading/unloading tasks.
