Psalms Food Industries Ltd was founded in 2010 as a family-owned business and one of the leading manufacturers of snacks. The company sells its products in 5 countries which comprise of the East African Community as well as the COMESA member countries and it is still expanding. Of all locally manufactured snacks, we offer the best distribution in supermarkets, schools and to our distributors in D.R.C, Rwanda, Kenya and South Sudan.

Job Summary

Following our expansion, we are seeking a dynamic Chief Operations Officer to lead our Operations strategy and drive growth for our brand and product portfolio and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Strategy: Contribute to company strategic planning, implement operational strategies.
Policy Development: Advise on operational efficiency, lead initiatives for efficiency.
Digital Transformation & Process Optimization: Drive corrective actions, enhance productivity.
Quality Control, Supply Chain, Compliance: Ensuring standards and regulations adherence.
Performance Management, Risk Management, Budgeting: Manage performance, risks, and budget.
Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
Track and report on KPIs to measure Organizational success.
Coordinate effectively with all functions (Finance, People & Culture, Sales & Marketing, IT, Procurement, Manufacturing and Operations) to achieve business goals.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Develop and implement operational strategies efficiently.
Revenue Growth, Market Share expansion, Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC).
Ensure adherence to regulations and standards.
Lead and manage teams effectively.
Implement plans aligned with company strategy.
Customer Retention Rate.
Implement digital solutions for efficiency.
Manage operational budgets effectively.

Qualifications & Competencies

Education & Experience

Master’s in Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
10+ years in manufacturing environment, with 5+ years in FMCG/food industry leadership.
Certification in Project Management or related field is an added advantage.

Technical Competences

Proven experience as a COO or similar role, with a track record of success in operational management.
Strong analytical, organizational, and creative thinking skills.
Knowledge of data analysis and report writing.
Proficiency in CRM, Google Analytics, and social media tools.

Behavioral Competences

Versatile team player, strategic thinker, high integrity.
Result-oriented, creative, emotionally intelligent.
Advanced process management and quick decision-making skills.
Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
