Job Summary

Tankhill Inn by SEB is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure full statutory compliance, and support effective reporting and decision-making within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable (AP) and receivable (AR) i.e. billing, receipting, and collections
• Oversee Treasury Management, daily cashflow and perform regular bank reconciliations
• Process accurate and timely payroll ensuring compliance with the statutory obligations
• Record and reconcile transactions in QuickBooks/Zoho Books, ensure proper financial reporting, and maintain system data integrity
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and reconciliations
• Support both internal and external audits with required documentation
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Prepare and review company tax returns ensuring accurate and timely submission to regulatory bodies
• Ensure compliance with the company policies, accounting standards, relevant laws, legislations and regulations

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (minimum Second-Class Upper)
• Professional qualification – CPA (minimum Level 2)
• 2-3 years of proven experience in a similar or related role
• Proficiency in accounting software (Zoho Books, QuickBooks)
• Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements
• Added Advantage: Training in Ugandan Taxation and URA Software
