Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Education

An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized university or institution.

Professional Certification

Professional qualifications from a recognized body such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or an equivalent recognized by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).

Experience

A minimum of two to five years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance.

Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills

Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with accounting software, such as Integrated Financial Management systems (IFMS).

Soft Skills

Integrity and Professionalism: High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data.
Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Organizational Skills: Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Other Requirements

Compliance: Knowledge of Uganda’s statutory and tax regulations is required.
Computer Literacy: Essential for modern accounting roles.
